This farm is located in the community of La Esmeralda, Marcala, in the Department of La Paz. The farm measures seven Hectares, with elevations ranging from 1,550 to 1,700 meters above sea level. The farm cultivates 100% Catuaí, which was the original varietal planted on the farm and remains so today.
The family harvests and processes their coffee using environmentally sustainable methods, and they have chosen Catuaí as their sole varietal based on their opinion that it is of superior cup quality. The farm is focused on maintaining excellent growing practices throughout. These measures include carefully monitored fermentation in concrete tanks, gradual shade drying, and meticulous sorting, all of which converge in harmony to result in a coffee of excellent quality. This is a truly outstanding example of what a Honduran coffee can be.
