This coming Monday, April 25th, we will be hosting a coffee-and-donuts fundraiser in support of the late Trooper Chad Dermyer’s family. Trooper Dermyer was shot and killed on March 31st by a career criminal at the Greyhound Bus station not far from our roastery. He leaves behind a wife and young children.
We felt compelled to put together a fundraiser for his family, because their financial struggles as a result of this horrific man-made tragedy are likely to impact them for some time. We contacted the fine folks at Sugar Shack Donuts — a Richmond institution — to see if they were interested in linking up with us for this endeavor. They enthusiastically jumped on board, so we will have delicious donuts and our freshly roasted and freshly brewed coffee. We are donating all the coffee outright, and Sugar Shack is doing the same on the donuts. This means every single penny donated on Monday morning will go directly to the Dermyer family. This fundraiser is being facilitated by the good folks from Richmond United for Law Enforcement.
So, if you are anywhere near Richmond, please spread the word to everyone you know by sharing the Facebook event page. Thank you so much for your interest and support!
